[07-11-2024] Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by Hit-And-Run Vehicle in Eastside A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Santa Barbara on Thursday night, July 11, 2024.

According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, the incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. in the Eastside area near Gutierrez Street.

Investigators said that an unspecified vehicle crashed into the pedestrian while its driver was fleeing the area after committing theft. The suspect driver did not stop and just continued on his way. 

The victim, whose name, age, and gender were undisclosed, reportedly suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. It is not immediately known if the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment following the crash.

Police are still searching for the suspect driver. As of this writing, no official description of the driver has been released.

The incident is still under investigation. Police are currently examining all the evidence to determine the circumstances of the crash.
