According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic crash happened at about 7:53 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Dillard Road, south of Elk Grove.

How the incident occurred and who was to blame are still unclear. CHP officials said that at least two vehicles were involved in the crash and that it resulted in someone possibly sustaining a minor injury. That person’s name, age, and current condition were not provided.

At the time of writing, the total number of people involved remains unknown. Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are currently being investigated as possible factors.
