[08-11-2024] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Three People Injured After Single-Vehicle Hit-And-Run Crash Near Paso Robles

Three people were injured after a single-vehicle hit-and-run crash near Paso Robles early Sunday morning, August 11, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 1:00 a.m. on River Road near Wellsona Road.

Preliminary reports indicated that a 15-year-old boy driving a 2013 Chevy Camaro northbound at approximately 80-90 miles per hour lost control of the vehicle while approaching a turn. As a result, the vehicle veered off the paved roadway and flipped several times.

The driver and a 17-year-old boy in the front passenger seat sustained minor injuries. However, a 22-year-old man from Paso Robles, who was a rear passenger, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered major injuries. His current condition was undisclosed.

Following the incident, the driver and the teen passenger fled the scene but were quickly located by authorities. The juvenile driver was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and was booked into San Luis Obispo County Juvenile Hall.

There is no indication as of yet whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
