A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle after a hit-and-run crash in Mojave, Kern County, on Thursday night, August 22, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on Sierra Highway near Belshaw Street.
Officials reported that the driver of a red Nissan sedan hit the pedestrian and fled the scene. The suspect has not been located as of Friday morning.
The identity of the deceased pedestrian will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.
