[08-24-2024] Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Critically Injured After Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Crash on Camino Del Rio NorthA 59-year-old man was killed, and a 55-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries when their motorcycle collided with an SUV in San Diego on Saturday afternoon, August 24, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of Camino Del Rio North.

Authorities stated that the motorcyclist was driving a 2021 BMW G310 eastbound in the left lane with the woman as his passenger when a 60-year-old man driving a 2015 Subaru Outback in the right lane attempted to make a U-turn across the median. The Subaru turned directly in front of the motorcycle, causing a collision.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was rushed to the hospital with a fractured pelvis, a fractured leg, and a collapsed lung.

The crash remains under investigation, though alcohol is not believed to be a factor. No additional information is immediately available.
