A 93-year-old man who was riding his bicycle in Westminster tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
According to the Westminster Police Department, authorities were dispatched to the intersection of Newland Street and Bolsa Avenue around 4:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a bicyclist who was found bleeding in the roadway.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim unresponsive and immediately performed life-saving measures until paramedics from the Orange County Fire Department arrived. Unfortunately, they pronounced him dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the site and was cooperative as detectives investigated the incident.
Detectives from the Westminster Police Department Traffic Bureau took over the case and found no evidence suggesting that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
