Two men were killed after an ATV crash near Hayfork, Trinity County, on Saturday afternoon, September 21, 2024.
The incident occurred around 12:44 p.m. on Forest Service Road, north of Carr Creek Road.
When medical personnel arrived, they pronounced Michael C., 65, of Vacaville, dead from injuries sustained in the crash. The second rider, Bobby J., 47, also from Vacaville, died shortly after medical personnel arrived.
The CHP has not determined which rider was the driver. Preliminary investigations indicate that the men were traveling eastbound when the ATV left the forest road, overturned down an embankment, and collided with a tree.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
