A middle school student riding a bicycle was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Rosemont, Sacramento County, on Thursday morning, September 26, 2024.
The incident occurred at a crosswalk near Albert Einstein Middle School, located on Mirandy Drive, just north of Kiefer Boulevard.
According to Principal Chase Tafoya, the student was attempting to cross the street at the crosswalk when the vehicle struck them. The driver did not stop after the collision. First aid was administered to the student at the scene, and medics arrived to transport them to a hospital.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run and have urged any witnesses to contact the California Highway Patrol.
