Two drivers were killed in a fiery head-on collision on Highway 152 just outside Los Banos on Friday afternoon, September 27, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol Los Banos, the crash occurred after they received reports of a wrong-way driver heading eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway.
The wrong-way driver sideswiped one vehicle before crashing head-on into a full-size SUV. Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the impact.
CHP confirmed that both drivers died at the scene. The identity of the wrong-way driver has not yet been released, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the driver’s actions.
The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
