At least one person was killed in a crash on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in San Jose early Monday morning, September 30, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 4:40 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into the center divider and overturned near The Alameda on I-880’s northbound lanes.
Shortly after, a motorcyclist collided with the overturned vehicle, causing the rider to be thrown into a nearby bush.
The CHP confirmed the fatality at around 5:45 a.m. Northbound lanes in the area were blocked following the crash.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
