Two bicyclists were injured in a chain reaction crash after a vehicle struck one of them in Sonoma County on Wednesday morning, October 2, 2024.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Marc Renspurger, the collision occurred at around 10:10 a.m. along Arnold Drive.
Authorities stated that the bicyclists were riding north on the right shoulder of Arnold Drive when the passenger-side mirror of a northbound Toyota Camry clipped the cyclist closest to the road.
The impact caused the first bicyclist to fall into the second rider, resulting in both cyclists crashing.
Both cyclists, who were wearing helmets, were transported to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver pulled over and cooperated with authorities. CHP-Napa is investigating the crash, though drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors.
The investigation is ongoing.
