A man was arrested after allegedly injuring an 8-year-old child with his bicycle and fleeing the scene in Novato on Friday night, October 18, 2024.
The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. near Grant Avenue and Second Street. According to Police Lt. Sophia Winter, the child was transported to a local hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
The following morning, investigators used surveillance footage from a nearby business to identify the suspect. Officers located him near Peach and Chase Streets later that day.
Anthony Edward M., 22, of Novato, was taken into custody and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was released on Monday pending further review by the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.
