A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Interstate 5 in Stockton early Monday morning, October 21, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. near Charter Way.
An unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on I-5 when it hit the pedestrian. The driver fled the scene before authorities arrived. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP stated that the suspect vehicle likely sustained front-end damage and urged anyone with information about the collision to contact Stockton CHP at (209) 938-4800.
The investigation is ongoing.
