[11-14-2024] Motorcyclist Killed After Losing Control and Being Struck by Vehicle in Chula VistaA motorcyclist died following a collision on Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

The crash occurred around 4:44 p.m. when a man riding a 2005 Suzuki GSXR1000 westbound on the 700 block of Telegraph Canyon Road lost control after striking the center median. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown into the eastbound lanes of traffic.

A 56-year-old woman from Spring Valley, driving a 2006 Honda Accord in the opposite direction, struck the motorcyclist moments later. She immediately yielded and was unharmed in the incident.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and law enforcement officers, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released. 

The driver of the Honda is cooperating with the investigation, and authorities have found no evidence of alcohol or drugs playing a role in the crash. 

The Chula Vista Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is continuing to investigate.
