One person was killed, and another was critically injured after a single-vehicle crash in Bakersfield on Saturday afternoon, December 7, 2024.
At approximately 2:11 p.m., officers responded to a crash on Manor Street, just south of Denise Avenue.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a Mercedes-Benz sedan that had veered out of the southbound lanes and rolled several times in a field west of the roadway.
Both occupants, identified as adult males, were ejected from the vehicle and transported to nearby hospitals. The driver succumbed to his injuries, while the passenger remains in critical condition.
According to police, excessive speed is believed to have contributed to the accident. The Bakersfield Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
