[02-09-2025] Man Hospitalized After Being Struck by Vehicle on Blackstone AvenueA homeless man was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in Fresno on Sunday night, February 9, 2025.

According to the Fresno Police Department, officers received a call about a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Blackstone Avenue just south of Shields Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located both the vehicle and the injured man in the roadway. The victim, confirmed to be homeless, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities determined that the man was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when a southbound vehicle struck him.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
