A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Hopper Avenue in Santa Rosa on Tuesday night, February 11, 2025.
According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, officers responded to the 1100 block of Hopper Avenue at approximately 6:56 p.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian-involved vehicle collision.
Emergency responders found the pedestrian unresponsive and not breathing. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Authorities stated that the driver of the involved maroon Chevrolet Suburban immediately called 911 and remained at the scene. Investigators believe the pedestrian was crossing Hopper Avenue outside of a crosswalk. The area was dark at the time, and the pedestrian was reportedly wearing dark clothing.
Officials said the driver did not show signs of impairment, and speed is not believed to be a factor.
The Santa Rosa Police Department is investigating the incident. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
