A 28-year-old man from Hollister was killed in a head-on collision in an unincorporated area of San Benito County on Tuesday evening, February 11, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol Hollister-Gilroy division, the crash occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. north of Shore Road at Frazier Lake Road.
Due to the severity of the crash, one of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle sustained serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash. It is currently unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
