[02-13-2025] One Killed, One Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-115 and Boyd RoadA two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one driver in Imperial County, on Thursday morning, February 13, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:42 a.m. on State Route 115 and Boyd Road. A 2000 Chevrolet Blazer traveling westbound on Boyd Road collided with a northbound tractor-trailer on SR-115.

The impact caused both vehicles to overturn. The driver of the Blazer, a 34-year-old man, sustained fatal injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt. The 62-year-old driver of the big rig, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center.

CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash and reminds motorists that seatbelt use is the most effective way to reduce injuries and fatalities in motor vehicle collisions.
