A motorcyclist sustained injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on the 15 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga during the morning commute on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
According to California Highway Patrol, dashcam footage captured the incident showing a black Subaru sedan suddenly merging into another lane and colliding with the motorcyclist, causing the rider to tumble onto the roadway.
The motorcyclist managed to stand up after the crash, but the driver of the Subaru continued driving away without stopping.
A witness who recorded the collision followed the suspect, capturing the license plate information before contacting 911. CHP later located the suspect driver within an hour.
The motorcyclist suffered bruises and a hip tear from the collision.
CHP is investigating the incident and is determining whether to recommend felony hit-and-run charges to the district attorney.
