[02-15-2025] Two Women Killed After Rollover Crash on Highway 99 Near Shippee Road in ChicoTwo women were killed in a rollover crash on Highway 99 near Shippee Road in Chico on Saturday night, February 15, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 10:48 p.m. when a white GMC Sierra traveling southbound on Highway 99 veered off the roadway, collided with a wire fence and steel fence posts, and overturned.

During the crash, one of the occupants was fully ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, while the second occupant was partially ejected and later succumbed to her injuries at Enloe Medical Center.

Neither of the women was wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash, according to the CHP.

The identity of the driver remains unknown, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Alcohol is being considered as a potential factor in the collision, the CHP reported.
