[02-21-2025] Alameda County, CA – Woman Killed After Head-On Collision at 92nd Avenue and San Leandro Street in East Oakland

Lashonda F., a 50-year-old woman from Antioch, was killed in a head-on collision in East Oakland on Friday night, February 21, 2025.

According to the Oakland Police Department, the crash occurred just after 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of 92nd Avenue and San Leandro Street.

The woman was driving eastbound on San Leandro Street at a high rate of speed when she crossed into the westbound lane at the intersection. Her vehicle collided with a GMC Yukon before crashing into a BART cement pillar.

The woman was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the GMC Yukon, a man in his 40s from Oakland, sustained minor injuries and is in stable condition.

Authorities stated that it is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.

The Oakland Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
