A woman was killed after running a stop sign and colliding with a Toyota Tacoma at the intersection of Road 9 and Avenue 25, just west of Chowchilla, on Tuesday morning, February 25, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 5:00 a.m. when the woman was driving a Nissan Altima south on Road 9 and failed to stop at the intersection with Avenue 25.
A Toyota Tacoma traveling west on Avenue 25 collided with the side of the Altima. The woman was declared dead at the scene. Officers reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma complained of pain but did not require hospitalization.
Authorities stated that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
