A gas company worker was rescued after falling into a 30- to 40-foot-deep well when the ground collapsed in Hesperia on Monday, March 3, 2025.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, the incident occurred in the 16400 block of Orange Street when the soil covering the old well gave way, causing the worker to fall in.
Firefighters responded to the scene and used a rope system to hoist the worker to safety.
Authorities reported that the individual was communicating with rescuers during the operation. However, details regarding their condition were not immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation.
