Two people sustained injuries after a speeding vehicle crashed into a duplex in Modesto early Friday morning, March 7, 2025.
According to Battalion Chief Jim Black of the Modesto Fire Department, the crash occurred at approximately 3:37 a.m. near the intersection of Tully Road and Bowen Avenue.
Authorities reported that the vehicle lost control, struck a curb, rolled over, and became airborne before colliding high on the wall of a duplex, causing extensive damage.
The driver and a passenger were transported to a hospital for treatment. The occupants of the duplex were not injured.
Fire crews secured the water and utility lines while assessing the structure for damage. The residents of the impacted unit temporarily relocated to the other half of the duplex.
Modesto police are investigating the crash. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
