A man died after being struck by a vehicle in central Fresno early Thursday morning, March 13, 2025.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the collision occurred just after 4:00 a.m. on Ashlan Avenue near Fresno Street. Authorities stated that the driver was traveling eastbound on Ashlan when the pedestrian crossed the road in front of them.
The driver attempted to swerve but was unable to avoid hitting the man, who is believed to be unhoused. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No further details are available at this time.
