A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Highway 138 and Oasis Road in Pinon Hills, San Bernardino County, shortly after midnight on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
At approximately 12:20 a.m., personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department were dispatched to the scene following reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian incident.
The pedestrian was found lying in the middle of the intersection and was pronounced deceased at 12:33 a.m. by first responders. Traffic lanes were reportedly blocked, and California Highway Patrol officers were requested for traffic control.
According to a witness, a white pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction noticed the body, made a U-turn, and stopped near the intersection to assist in directing traffic. The incident was described as a hit-and-run, with additional bystanders also helping with traffic control.
The incident remains under investigation.
