[04-22-2025] Rollover Crash Blocks Intersection of East 1st Avenue and Oleander Avenue in ChicoA rollover crash involving two vehicles blocked the intersection of East 1st Avenue and Oleander Avenue in Chico on Tuesday afternoon, April 22, 2025.

According to the Chico Police Department, the collision occurred around 3:32 p.m. Officers responded to the crash and arrived to find a gray Ford SUV on its side with damage to the passenger side, and a gold Honda Accord with significant front-end damage.

Authorities stated that the Ford SUV was traveling southbound on Oleander Avenue when it failed to yield at the intersection. The Honda Accord, traveling through the intersection, struck the passenger side of the SUV, causing it to roll over onto its side.

The driver of the Ford, though uninjured, had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver of the Honda was also uninjured. Emergency crews cleared the intersection, which was blocked for approximately one hour, and reopened the roadway to traffic.

The incident remains under investigation.
