One person was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash involving two big rigs on Interstate 5 near Jayne Avenue in Coalinga on Thursday afternoon, May 1, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 4:00 p.m. when a semi truck struck another big rig and then collided with a third vehicle.
Authorities reported that one of the drivers was ejected during the crash and was flown to a hospital. Their current condition remains unknown.
The collision also brought down power lines across the highway, leading to a full closure of Interstate 5 for several hours.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
