A major crash involving multiple vehicles shut down eastbound Interstate 580 in San Joaquin County on Friday afternoon, May 2, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just west of Corral Hollow Road. Eastbound lanes of I-580 were closed as of 4:24 p.m. while authorities responded to the scene.
The number of vehicles involved and the extent of injuries remain unknown at this time. Drivers are advised to expect heavy traffic in the area and to take alternate routes.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
