Two people were killed after a small, home-built airplane crashed into two homes in Simi Valley on Saturday afternoon, May 3, 2025.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the Van’s RV-10 crashed near High Meadow Street and Wood Ranch Parkway around 2:00 p.m. The Ventura County Fire Department confirmed that the pilot and a passenger aboard the aircraft were fatally injured.
Authorities reported that about 40 firefighters responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the resulting fire. Although there were occupants inside the two affected homes at the time, no injuries were reported among the residents.
The Simi Valley Police Department and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are jointly conducting the investigation. The NTSB is leading the effort to remove the wreckage, and the road remains closed until the investigation is complete.
The FAA stated that the aircraft had departed from William J. Fox Airfield in Lancaster and was en route to Camarillo Airport. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with the full inquiry expected to take several months.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
