[05-12-2025] One Critically Injured, Two Moderately Hurt in Two-Vehicle Crash in SolvangOne woman was critically injured and two others were moderately hurt following a two-vehicle crash in Solvang in Santa Barbara County on Monday afternoon, May 12, 2025.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash occurred at approximately 12:42 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 246 (Mission Drive) and Alamo Pintado Road.

Authorities said the adult female driver of one vehicle was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by firefighters. She sustained major injuries and was transported by American Medical Response to the Santa Ynez Airport, where she was airlifted by County Copter 3 to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Two additional occupants from the second vehicle, a man and a woman, suffered moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
