[05-18-2025] Sacramento County, CA – Woman Seriously Injured, Suspected of DUI in Head-On Crash at Old Auburn Road and Bonita Way in Citrus Heights

A Sacramento woman was seriously injured and is suspected of driving under the influence following a head-on crash in Citrus Heights on Sunday morning, May 18, 2025.

According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, the crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Old Auburn Road and Bonita Way. 

The woman, identified as 35-year-old Doris M., was driving with her two children when the collision occurred.

Emergency responders transported the woman to the hospital with serious injuries. Her children were uninjured and have been placed into protective custody with Child Protective Services. The driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured.

Citrus Heights Police said Meretz is expected to face felony DUI charges. The crash remains under investigation.
