A four-year-old girl was killed after being ejected from an ATV in a solo vehicle crash in Tulare County on Saturday night, May 17, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on Road 267, north of Avenue 72, southeast of Terra Bella.
Authorities said 42-year-old Ramon C. III of Terra Bella was driving a 2015 Polaris RZR XP4 northbound when the crash happened.
For reasons still under investigation, one of the two juvenile passengers—a four-year-old girl—was ejected from the ATV and landed on the asphalt roadway. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
CHP officers at the scene reported that Castaneda showed signs of alcohol intoxication. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
The child’s identity has not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation.
