Three people were injured, including two with life-threatening injuries, following a crash between an SUV and a sedan at a Winchester intersection in Riverside County on Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 1:25 p.m. at the intersection of Winchester and Holland Roads.
Authorities believe one of the drivers may have run a red light before the vehicles collided at unknown speeds. The impact caused the sedan to crash into a light pole, trapping its two occupants inside.
Emergency crews from the Riverside County Fire Department conducted a cut-and-rescue operation to extricate both individuals. They were transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with critical injuries.
The driver of the SUV sustained minor to moderate injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
