A truck driver was hospitalized, and two others sustained mild injuries after a multi-vehicle crash spilled 70,000 pounds of juice on Highway 99 in Fresno early Friday morning, June 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 2:45 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Herndon Avenue. Authorities said the driver of a semi-truck lost control and struck an embankment, causing the truck to overturn and block the two right lanes.
The semi-truck driver sustained an arm injury and was transported to the hospital. A second semi-truck driver attempting to avoid the overturned vehicle was rear-ended by a Ford F-250. Both of those drivers suffered mild injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The crash initially blocked all lanes of northbound Highway 99. As of the latest update, one lane has reopened, with full reopening expected within approximately three hours.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
