A bicyclist was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Hemet on Saturday evening, June 28, 2025.
According to the Hemet Police Department, officers responded at approximately 5:36 p.m. to the area of Domenigoni Parkway and State Street, where they located a deceased male bicyclist in the roadway.
Witnesses at the scene provided a description and direction of the fleeing vehicle. Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to yield and led officers on a short pursuit lasting about three minutes before being taken into custody and booked into the Riverside County Jail.
Investigators stated that the vehicle, traveling eastbound on Domenigoni Parkway, struck the bicyclist. Authorities believe driving under the influence may have been a factor in the crash. The identities of both the bicyclist and the driver have not yet been released.
Domenigoni Parkway was closed between State Street and Searl Parkway from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the investigation.
