A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at a known high-risk intersection in East Oakland on Monday night, July 7, 2025.
According to the Oakland Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of 82nd Avenue and Bancroft Avenue.
A driver struck the pedestrian while they were in a marked crosswalk, then fled the scene. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where they later died.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of their family.
The Oakland Police Department is investigating the hit-and-run crash.
