A Capitola resident was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Capitola on Thursday evening, July 3, 2025.
According to the Capitola Police Department, the incident occurred at the intersection of Bay and Capitola avenues, one of the city’s busiest corridors. A white SUV traveling northbound struck the pedestrian while he was in the crosswalk.
Emergency responders treated the man at the scene before he was transported by air ambulance to a regional trauma center in stable but serious condition.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. Police confirmed that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing. No further details regarding the victim’s identity or current condition have been released.
