A pedestrian was struck and killed by several vehicles while crossing Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage on Sunday night, August 3, 2025.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched at approximately 10:27 p.m. to the area of Highway 111 and Dunes View Road. Responding units found a person underneath a vehicle suffering from major injuries.
Deputies determined that the pedestrian was crossing Highway 111 outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by multiple vehicles. All involved drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Officials stated that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be contributing factors for any of the involved drivers.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
