Several pedestrians were injured after being struck by a suspected drunken driver in North Oakland on Monday evening, August 11, 2025.
According to the Oakland Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 5200 block of Broadway, about a half-block from Oakland Technical High School’s upper campus in the Rockridge neighborhood.
Police said the driver fled after the collision but was located nearby a short time later and arrested. Authorities believe alcohol may have been a factor.
The number of victims and the extent of their injuries have not been disclosed. All injured pedestrians were transported to hospitals for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
