A pickup truck rolled off the side of Highway 178 and ignited a brush fire in Kern County on Friday afternoon, August 22, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 3:00 p.m. near mile marker 34.5 along Highway 178.
Authorities said as many as three vehicles were involved in the incident. The pickup went off the roadway, sparking a brush fire at the crash site.
Details regarding injuries have not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
