A crash near Los Banos prompted a closure of a portion of Highway 165 in Merced County on Thursday afternoon, August 28, 2025.
According to the Los Banos Police Department, the collision, reported around 4:30 p.m., occurred approximately two miles north of Henry Miller Avenue.
Officers confirmed that both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed to traffic as a result of the head-on crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently unknown, and authorities have asked the public to avoid the area for the next couple of hours.
