A worker was trapped inside a mulcher in southern San Luis Obispo County on Friday morning, August 29, 2025.
According to the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, the incident occurred at 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 1 and Oso Flaco Lake Road, just north of Guadalupe.
Emergency crews, including Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), responded to the scene.
By 12:50 p.m., authorities confirmed the worker had been extricated from the equipment and was flown to a nearby hospital. His condition remains unknown at this time.
Highway 1 at Oso Flaco Lake Road was closed in both directions while emergency teams worked at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
