A woman riding a scooter was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Caltrain’s San Jose Diridon Station on Monday morning, September 8, 2025.
According to San Jose police, the crash occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. in the area of Santa Clara and Cahill streets.
The woman was transported to a hospital where she later died from her injuries. Authorities have not released her name.
The vehicle involved fled the scene, and police are actively investigating the incident.
Santa Clara Street was closed in both directions from Stockton Avenue to Barack Obama Boulevard while officers worked at the scene. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
