A 19-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly driving under the influence, colliding with a vehicle, and resisting officers during an attempted arrest on U.S. Highway 101 in Petaluma on Wednesday night, September 17, 2025.
According to the Petaluma Police Department, officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run collision with minor injuries. They located the vehicle traveling south on Highway 101 at speeds exceeding 100 mph and initiated a traffic stop. Officers observed signs of alcohol intoxication and began a DUI investigation.
During the arrest process, the driver, identified as Alicia W., pushed an officer and resisted arrest for several minutes. Alicia was injured during the altercation and transported to a hospital for evaluation. The California Highway Patrol assisted in blocking traffic due to the highway location.
After treatment, Alicia was booked into Sonoma County Jail on charges of DUI causing injury, hit-and-run causing injury, assault on a peace officer, and resisting arrest, with bail set at $100,000. The case has been forwarded to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office for review.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
