One person was killed and another injured in a suspected DUI crash on the 11200 block of Kiowa Road near Caribou Avenue in Apple Valley, San Bernardino County, on Saturday night, September 20, 2025.
According to preliminary reports, a white Nissan sedan rear-ended a white Hummer SUV traveling northbound, causing the Hummer to veer off the roadway, strike a wooden utility pole, crash through a chain-link fence, and come to rest on private property.
The Hummer was occupied by two adult males. The driver was ejected and later pronounced dead at St. Mary’s Medical Center, while the passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was able to contact family members.
The driver of the Nissan, 23-year-old Exon H., was arrested at the scene and later booked into the High Desert Detention Center. He faces felony charges of DUI causing bodily injury, DUI with a BAC of 0.08% causing bodily injury, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
