A man was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 59 south of Oakdale in Merced County on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. The man was driving a Ford Fusion when his car crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with a dump truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP reported that the truck driver was not injured. Officers are investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
