A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed on Interstate 780 near Benicia in Solano County on Tuesday night, December 9, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident prompted the closure of all eastbound lanes of I-780 in Solano County for more than three hours.
CHP said traffic was diverted off the freeway at Military West while officers investigated the scene. The roadway was fully reopened around 9:45 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
