A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a semi-truck on Highway 166 just north of Soda Lake Road on Grocer Grade in Kern County on Monday, December 15, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred at the scene of another traffic incident.
CHP records indicated the initial crash was reported at approximately 4:19 p.m. Authorities said the pedestrian was struck by a semi-truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was blocked for about four hours while investigators examined the area. A few additional details were immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
